Dots, 2019 SOLD

Selected for the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition 2019

We live in an ever-changing world - nature leaves its mark in time, be it the degradation of materials or the changing effect of light throughout the day and year. I aim to capture these transient moments in my artwork. My camera is always with me. I photograph and catalogue obscure details that capture my eye - mainly textures, colours and the effect of light and shadows.

Dots was inspired by the beautiful textures found on the metal surfaces of an old barge on the Amstel River in Amsterdam. Reflective light created interesting colour combinations.
